In Valdez, Alaska, Sue Lynn Wood lives with her spouse and their cherished pet, Ruffy. Originally from Portland, Oregon, she grew up in Clark County, Washington. In 1999, the pair moved to Valdez because they were drawn to Alaska. Her alias, "Sue Lynn Wood," honors three generations of women in her maternal family. She is currently employed full-time at the local electric utility as a proud member of IBEW 1547, and she plans to retire the following year. Recent developments in Sue's life inspired her to share her poetry in order to celebrate who she truly is. This anthology commemorates her path of self-discovery and artistic expression and signifies her debut as a writer through the metaphor of the Phoenix Butterfly.
